Indonesia wildfires send millions into health crisis as smoke blankets communities

Thousands of fires are burning across Indonesia, including Sulawesi, Java, Papua and Sumatra, with West Kalimantan among the worst-affected areas. Fire crews are battling rapidly spreading flames across dried-out peatland, while water shortages and thick haze make firefighting more difficult.
