Nepal flash floods surge through villages as Trishuli River destroys homes

Major flash floods in Nepal have killed at least eight people, with the Trishuli River surging through Himalayan districts near the border. Videos shared by police and on social media show torrents of muddy water crashing through mountain villages and destroying homes.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah has called an emergency meeting as authorities assess the damage. Meanwhile, in nearby Tibet, local authorities fear “major casualties” after a mudslide hit a land crossing, with some people reported missing. This footage was captured in the Gyirong region of Tibet.
