Iran rejects US pressure, warns it is ready for ’round of confrontation’
Iran is facing a difficult choice as the US intensifies economic pressure while Tehran weighs the prospect of renewed diplomacy with Washington. Iranian officials are dismissing US threats, with parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf saying Washington is not in a position to further restrict Iran’s relations with other countries. Ghalibaf said Iran’s trade partners had also indicated they did not take US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s warnings seriously. At the same time, Tehran faces growing military pressure and warnings of another confrontation, leaving the prospects for diplomacy increasingly uncertain.
