Tamil Nadu: Vijay Announces Free LPG Cylinders, Expanded Bus Travel for Women & Transgender Persons

Tamil Nadu CM Vijay unveiled a fresh set of welfare measures in the Assembly, headlined by the "Annapoorani Super 6" scheme, offering three free LPG cylinders annually to women heads of households, starting Pongal 2027. With a ₹4,000 crore annual outlay, it's expected to benefit over 1.30 crore families. Vijay also expanded the "Vetri Payanam" free bus travel scheme to cover Express, Deluxe, and hill-area buses for women and transgender persons from October 2, with no trip limits or income cap
