India is moving ahead with its ambitious plan to establish the Bharatiya Antariksha Station, with ISRO Chairman Dr. V Narayanan confirming that the first module has already been approved. India aims to establish the space station by 2035.
Speaking during the third National Space Day celebrations in Ahmedabad, Dr. Narayanan highlighted India’s expanding capabilities in space technology and outlined major programmes including Gaganyaan and the Bharatiya Antariksha Station.
The planned Indian space station represents a major step in India’s long-term human spaceflight ambitions and follows the country’s growing achievements in space exploration.
The Union Cabinet had previously approved the development and launch of the first BAS module, BAS-01, with a target launch by 2028, while the complete five-module station is expected to become operational around 2035.
