Iraq’s tourism recovery: War on Iran puts industry revival at risk

Iraq's economy has been hit hard by the war on Iran and the restriction of movement in the Strait of Hormuz. Before the war, tourism was beginning to emerge as one of Iraq’s few economic bright spots, with visitor numbers rising after decades. The country has been working to shed its image as a dangerous destination. But now, that recovery is being de-railed.
