Iranian Defence Ministry spokesperson Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik said production of some strategic defence products and military necessities increased by more than threefold during the 40-day war. Talaei-Nik claimed Iran's ability to rapidly replace weapons and equipment used on the battlefield demonstrated the country's growing domestic defence-production capacity. He also said Iran's defence industry has made significant progress compared with the eight-year Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s. The Iranian general further claimed that the country achieved a major increase in the production of weapons, equipment and ammunition despite what Tehran describes as U.S.-Israeli aggression.
