DAY FIVE- Case Background: On February 16th, 2022, 33-year-old Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan was shot and killed in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, after stopping to move a tire that had been placed in the road. His 2-year-old daughter was in the back seat at the time.
Prosecutors allege Bridegan’s murder was a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by his ex-wife, Shanna Gardner, and her then-husband, Mario Fernandez Saldana. They are accused of hiring Henry Tenon, a former tenant of Saldana’s, to carry out the shooting amid a bitter custody battle over the couple’s twin children.
Fernandez is charged with first-degree murder and solicitation to commit first-degree murder. His trial started with jury selection on August 10th, 2026; opening statements start on August 17th and his trial is scheduled to last until August 28th. Shanna Gardner's trial starts with jury selection on August 31st and opening statements are expected on September 8th. Her trial is scheduled to last until September 25th, 2026.
The alleged shooter, Henry Tenon, withdrew his guilty plea and will be on trial in March 2027. May justice for Jared Bridegan be served!
