After what we found on North Trail, we returned to Fire Tower 13 with more questions than answers.
What was supposed to be a simple 24-hour fire watch shift was quickly becoming one of the strangest investigations we’ve ever filmed.
In Part 3, we continue working from the lookout tower while trying to understand what is actually happening in the mountains around us.
The job itself is simple on paper — monitor the surrounding forest, communicate with nearby stations, record weather conditions and complete whatever assignments appear on the FIRE WATCH computer.
But the longer we stay at Tower 13, the harder it becomes to tell which parts of the job are normal… and which parts were never supposed to happen.
The computer begins acting strangely.
Our weather equipment starts glitching.
Radio communication becomes increasingly difficult to explain.
And information left behind by the previous lookout keeps pointing us back toward the same areas we were already warned about.
North Trail.
Nearby fire towers that are supposed to be abandoned.
And strange activity in the forest surrounding our station.
At first, we try to convince ourselves that we’re dealing with old equipment, bad connections and a fire tower that has probably been neglected for years.
But then we start noticing things that technology can’t explain.
The deeper we investigate Tower 13, the more inconsistencies we find.
Files don’t seem to match what we’ve been told.
Old records raise even more questions.
And while searching through the FIRE WATCH computer, we discover something hidden inside the system that makes us seriously question who knew we were coming here.
By this point, daylight is disappearing and we’re completely isolated in the Appalachian wilderness.
No nearby town.
No easy way to get help.
And after everything we experienced on North Trail, the one place that was supposed to keep us safe is beginning to feel just as unsettling as the forest below.
Then everything changes.
This is PART 3 of our Appalachian Mountains: FIRE TOWER 13 horror series.
Watch until the end… because what we uncover inside the tower makes us realize there may be a reason this place was left behind.
