Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I’m your host Paul and this video we’re breaking down The X-files.

Season 5 was another amazing step forward for the show with it averaged 20 million viewers every single episode. It also was just about to hit the big leagues too with this season going towards the franchises first feature film. Because of that the Season comes in at just 20 episodes which is four episodes less than last time. And yes…there was a time where a 20 episode season was seen as being less than. Due to the fact this season built towards the film as well this was the first season that was all planned in advance. This season was also initially planned to be the last season of the show. Duchovny said that when things really started picking up in those early entries that everyone said they’d do five and then bounce. However by the time five came around everyone was rooted in and when fox said theyd greenlight another two seasons everybody signed on.
