Pakistan's jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan has become the focus of fresh concern over his health after his sister alleged that he was being tortured and kept in isolation at Adiala Jail.
Khan was examined by doctors at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Friday and was declared medically fit before being sent back to Adiala Jail.
His sister said Khan's vision had improved following treatment for a retinal haemorrhage, but had not yet fully returned. Doctors reportedly found that the haemorrhages had reduced, although a small haemorrhage remained, with further injections scheduled.
There was no immediate response from Pakistan's interior and law ministries or jail authorities to Reuters' request for comment regarding the allegations of torture.
