Colombia is grappling with the aftermath of a devastating 7.5-magnitude earthquake that struck on August 10, with the latest official figures putting the death toll at 319. According to Colombia’s National Disaster Risk Management Unit, 4,469 people have been injured and 260 remain missing. Rescue teams have so far managed to pull 364 survivors from the rubble. The earthquake struck at a reported depth of 80 kilometres, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center. Rescue and recovery operations continue as authorities assess the full scale of the disaster.
