Iran is proposing that BRICS members connect their national payment systems to create a unified financial corridor using local currencies. Central Bank official Hossein Kashiri says China, Russia and Iran already possess important components of the network, which could accelerate payments, reduce transaction costs and avoid dependence on SWIFT. Tehran is also promoting the Asian Clearing Union as an existing model for multilateral settlement. The broader BRICS corridor remains a proposal rather than a completed unified system. Watch.
