Russia- Ukraine War: Moscow Region Wildberries Warehouse Catches Fire After Drone Attack

A major Ukrainian drone attack targeted Russia's Moscow region overnight on Sunday, August 16, with a Wildberries warehouse in Podolsk reportedly struck and engulfed in flames. Thick black smoke was seen rising from the burning facility in Koledino.

Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said an 83-year-old man was killed and several others were injured in Podolsk. Russia's Defence Ministry claimed that 822 Ukrainian drones were shot down across the country during the overnight assault.

Wildberries, one of Russia's largest online retailers, has been targeted in recent weeks amid Ukrainian accusations that the company handles military-related goods. The latest attack comes as Ukraine continues to target infrastructure it views as supporting Russia's war effort.
