The USS Abraham Lincoln, a US aircraft carrier deployed in support of operations linked to the Iran war, is reportedly facing growing pressure after spending more than 250 days at sea.
A new report highlights how attacks on key US logistics hubs in the Gulf region disrupted supply routes and created challenges for American aircraft carriers operating in West Asia. With Bahrain no longer functioning as a reliable logistics and rest hub, the Pentagon reportedly turned to Diego Garcia as an alternative supply base.
The prolonged deployment has reportedly placed additional strain on the carrier's nearly 5,000 sailors and Marines, with concerns including food shortages, damaged infrastructure, exhaustion and limited opportunities for downtime. Reports have also raised concerns about the mental health of personnel aboard the ship.
The USS Abraham Lincoln is expected to be replaced by the USS George Washington, which has begun moving from Japan toward West Asia. Meanwhile, the USS George H.W. Bush continues to operate in the region.
The developments highlight the logistical and human challenges facing the US Navy as the Iran conflict continues and American forces maintain operations across West Asia.
