The Sirena 48 might be the entry point to Sirena's range, but after spending a day touring, driving and berthing it, we came away wondering whether it might actually be some of the Turkish builder's best work.
Designed around a German Frers semi-displacement hull, the Sirena 48 combines the space and practicality you'd expect from a trawler-style yacht with a more modern approach to performance, accommodation and outdoor living. Three cabins, an enormous flybridge, a full-beam owner's suite and genuinely useful deck spaces make this a yacht designed to be used properly, whether that's extended summer cruising or year-round boating.
In this detailed YachtBuyer Sea Trial & Review, Jack Haines doesn't just tour the Sirena 48. We take it out on the water, test its performance and handling, measure noise levels and put its owner-operator credentials to the test with some challenging close-quarters manoeuvring.

One of the biggest surprises is how the Sirena 48 feels underway. The semi-displacement hull delivers a soft, composed ride while still feeling surprisingly agile for a yacht with this much volume. Around 15-16 knots, it settles into an easy cruising rhythm, remaining comfortable and confidence-inspiring without the heavy, ponderous character sometimes associated with traditional trawler yachts.
That versatility continues at lower speeds. Sirena officially quotes a range of 477 nautical miles at 10 knots with the standard twin 550hp Cummins engines, while buyers wanting more performance can upgrade to the 670hp Cummins installation.
Accommodation is another major strength. There are three proper guest cabins below deck, including an impressively spacious full-beam owner's suite that benefits from the V-drive engine installation. Up top, the huge flybridge manages to incorporate a second helm, dining area, wet bar and generous lounging spaces without feeling overcrowded.
It's not perfect. We found areas of the helm ergonomics that could be improved, and our test boat with the standard 550hp Cummins engines didn't quite achieve the performance figures we expected. Close-quarters manoeuvring in difficult conditions also demonstrated why we'd be tempted to specify the optional stern thruster.
But those points don't undermine what is a remarkably complete package.
The Sirena 48 is spacious without becoming unwieldy, tough without feeling utilitarian and comfortable in poor conditions without sacrificing the outdoor spaces that make boating so enjoyable when the weather improves.
For an owner-operator looking for one yacht capable of doing a little bit of everything, there's a lot to like here.
