Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a strong warning to European countries, threatening retaliatory action if Russian merchant vessels are seized.
Putin said Russia would respond “in kind” to any attempts by European nations to seize Russian ships, accusing some countries of violating international maritime law. The warning comes as European governments intensify their crackdown on Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet” — vessels suspected of helping Moscow circumvent sanctions and continue transporting Russian oil
