Malaysia Boreo had been on our bucket list for a long time, and it didn't disappoint... at least not at first! We spent our first day in Sabah exploring the stunning island of Manukan, swimming in crystal-clear water before heading to the famous KK Fish Market, where we came across something that left us questioning what we were seeing including lobsters carrying eggs and juvenile sting rays that appeared to be for sale.
We finished the day watching Kota Kinabalu's world-famous sunset before setting off the next day for even more island hopping, visiting Sapi Island and to Mamutik to experience some of the clearest water we've seen recently.
Is Kota Kinabalu still worth visiting? Is there a problem or are we missing something?
