Back-to-school shopping is putting added financial pressure on some Ottawa families, while an organization says about 2,000 children are still waiting for help. CTV's Katie Griffin reports that the Caring and Sharing Exchange is filling thousands of backpacks with school supplies for students in need. The Caring and Sharing Exchange says a $60 donation can provide one student with a backpack and grade-appropriate supplies. A new Retail Council of Canada survey finds the average Canadian household will spend $600 to $750 per child on back-to-school shopping, including electronics.
