IRAN STRIKES BACK: Araghchi Calls For ‘Muslim Unity’ After Saudi, Turkiye & Pak Sign ‘Mecca Pact’

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi called on neighbouring Muslim countries to strengthen unity and rely on their own capabilities, saying Iran's armed forces had demonstrated their readiness and strength against what he described as the world's most advanced military force. His comments came as Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan signed a defence agreement in Mecca on Friday. The agreement is intended to strengthen collective deterrence and states that an armed attack against any one of the three countries will be regarded as an attack against all three, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said. The pact also calls for expanded defence cooperation among the three regional powers. The agreement was not described as being directed against Iran, but its timing comes as regional security alliances continue to evolve.
