North Korean troops are reportedly undergoing military training in Russia as Moscow deepens defence cooperation with Pyongyang and prepares to expand its battlefield capabilities, according to footage shared by a Russian Telegram channel and claims from Ukrainian military intelligence. Kyiv's GUR intelligence agency said Russia is forming a missile unit in the Voronezh region equipped with North Korean KN-23 and KN-24 ballistic missiles and could deploy around 90 North Korean servicemen alongside the force. Ukraine alleges North Korea has already supplied missiles and personnel to Russia and warned that any North Korean-operated missile systems would become legitimate military targets. The developments, which could not be independently verified, have fuelled concerns over the growing military partnership between Moscow and Pyongyang and its potential impact on the war in Ukraine.
