Regina mosque’s call to prayer resumes after police reissue permit

A mosque in Regina, the Regina City Jamia Masjid, has been approved to broadcast a call to prayer (the Adhan) every Friday for about four minutes.

The permit was granted after it the prayer call was paused for weeks amid threats and backlash targeting the institute.

In a post celebrating the permit approval on Friday, the mosque said the decision helps support “mutual respect” and religious freedoms in Regina.
