We May Not Have Time... || Planting Before Fall & More Tomatoes || August 2026
Some days on the farm are all about looking ahead.
Today Meagan is still bringing in tomatoes while also picking fresh figs and Cherokee yellow wax beans from the garden. Andy finishes up where the purple hull peas were, tills the ground, plants a cover crop, and decides to put in another row of October beans... even though there's no guarantee they'll have enough time before frost arrives.
We end the day together on the porch swing, talking about what the rest of the evening holds and enjoying a few quiet minutes after another busy morning on the farm.
Thanks so much for spending part of your day with our family. We appreciate every view, every comment, and every one of you who chooses to follow along as we work to grow as much of our own food as possible.
If you enjoy country living, gardening, preserving food, and simple family life you’re in the right place.
