Ground Report: Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway Caved In 20 Days Post Inauguration; Repair Underway

A ground report from the Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway reveals that repair work is underway for the fifth time, just twenty days after its inauguration. A stretch of three hundred to four hundred metres has suffered a surface collapse of six to seven inches, leading to a two-kilometre prohibition for commuters and forcing traffic onto an adjacent one-way lane. While the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) claims the ongoing activity is preventive maintenance under the defect liability period executed by the construction company, three engineers have been debarred and a probe ordered over quality concerns. Machineries and JCBs remain deployed as commuters question the quality of the newly constructed expressway.
