Flames swept through grassland and into residential areas in north-west Spokane, Washington, as a fast-moving wildfire forced thousands of people to evacuate. The Old Trails Fire broke out at around midday near Old Trails Road and West Euclid Road, before spreading rapidly north and east in strong winds and high temperatures.
