Trump says he agreed to cancel planned attack on Iran due to pending deal

President Donald Trump on Saturday night said he agreed to cancel a planned U.S. military strike against Iran after Tehran and several Middle Eastern nations requested more time to finalize a broader agreement that would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and address Iran's nuclear program.

Trump said the U.S. was "locked and loaded and ready to go" with military force against Iran "at levels of Military Terror, Strength, and Power not seen since World War II."

"Despite this, we have just been asked by Iran, and other Middle Eastern Countries, to hold off any attack in that the perimeters of a deal has been agreed to," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
