67 Dead! Spain Plans Sea Barrier To Stop Ceuta Crossings | Spain Tightens Ceuta Border | N18G | 4K
Spain has announced plans to build a 500-metre sea barrier after a deadly migrant surge at the Ceuta border left 67 people dead. Thousands crossed into the Spanish enclave from Morocco, prompting a major security operation.
Spanish authorities say most migrants have now returned to Morocco, with soldiers escorting exhausted swimmers back across the border. Madrid has praised Morocco as a reliable security partner, saying close cooperation helped restore order within 24 hours.
Despite the returns, Ceuta remains tense. Migrants continue gathering near the border fence, police have tightened checks on roads leading to Fnideq, and reports say taxis and buses are refusing to transport people heading towards the crossing. Some migrants have also vowed to stay despite food shortages, keeping pressure on Spanish authorities.
