This week, the Nolan Wells case shifted again. The Mississippi State Medical Examiner completed the official autopsy of 18-year-old Nolan Xavier Wells — then sealed it and handed it to a Jackson County grand jury. The public can't see it. His parents, Christine and Elmore Wonsley, can't see it. And federal agents (FBI) just made the first arrest tied to this case — 27-year-old Joseph Alfredo Vasquez Dumarce of California, charged with sending death threats to Judge Ashlee Cole, the mother of one of Nolan's friends — not for Nolan's death itself.
Nolan died after a July 4th boat trip to Horn Island, off Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Found two days later. Ruled nothing yet. Was it an accidental drowning, or something else? The independent autopsy came back undetermined, toxicology is still pending, and questions remain about the Sea Tow distress call and the last person to see Nolan alive.
