Breaking: Vijay Govt Moves Supreme Court Against Madras HC Order | Jobs To Karur Stampede Families

The Tamil Nadu government has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Madras High Court ruling that quashed compassionate appointments granted to the kin of Karur stampede victims. The High Court had held that providing immediate job appointment letters violated Article 14 and Article 16 of the Constitution, as it overlooked others waiting in line for compassionate appointments on other grounds. In its petition, the Tamil Nadu government argued that the decision to grant compassionate appointments is a policy decision and that courts cannot interfere with executive policy choices.
