In this episode of To The Point, a special report panel examines the aftermath of nationwide student protests concerning National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) paper leaks and examination malpractices. Following continuous demonstrations, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned, Higher Education Secretary Vineet Joshi was removed, and 47 National Testing Agency (NTA) officials were terminated. The Union government introduced the Public Examination Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha to curb paper leaks, established fast-track courts, and formed a high-level review committee. The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the government demanding the complete withdrawal of First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against student protesters, threatening to resume nationwide agitation. Representatives from CJP, NSUI, ABVP, and Left student organizations discussed allegations of police brutality, including the usage of pellet guns in Delhi, a police officer firing an AK-47 in Siwan, Bihar, and ongoing student detentions. Additionally, the Supreme Court observed that peaceful protests cannot be brutalized and agitation does not justify lathi charges.
