Gas prices rising more than 50 cents a litre since the start of the year are forcing boaters and drivers to scale back their summer travel plans. Premium gas at the marina has reached $2.38 a litre while Ottawa area drivers are paying an average of $1.85 a litre at the pump. Canadians for Affordable Energy president Dan McTeague predicts a brief four-cent drop before crude oil costs could push prices higher again.
