Gujarat Floods: Over 12,700 Evacuated, 22,000 Relocated As Heavy Rain Wreaks Havoc | Watch

Torrential rain has triggered severe flooding across south Gujarat, with Valsad and Navsari among the worst-hit districts. Around 1,200 stranded people have been rescued, while over 22,000 residents have been shifted to safer locations. Umbergaon in Valsad recorded an extraordinary 1,200 mm of rainfall in just 36 hours, causing rivers to overflow, widespread waterlogging, power outages, road closures and train disruptions. The NDRF, SDRF and Army have been deployed for rescue operations, while the IMD has issued a red alert for several districts. Schools and colleges in affected areas will remain closed, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have assured the Gujarat government of all necessary assistance.
