UK inflation cools but Iran war revival clouds outlook

New British Prime Minister Andy Burnham got an early boost in his efforts to ease the cost of living pressures as inflation fell to 2.6% in June, its lowest since March 2025, driven by cheaper petrol after a brief de-escalation in the Iran war.
