Trump pushes for peace in Lebanon: President Aoun in US to discuss fragile framework

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun is in Washington for the first visit by a Lebanese leader to the White House since 2009. The talks focused on a fragile framework aimed at ending hostilities with Israel, securing an Israeli withdrawal and allowing displaced residents to return to the south. But renewed attacks on Iran have made that already difficult task even harder.
