Ground Report: Heavy Security Near Parliament After Protest, Tear Gas Use; Monsoon Session Continues

Following a protest that reached the Central Secretariat area near Parliament, police deployments, barricades, buses, announcement speakers and riot-control vehicles remain in place. Tear gas was used in multiple rounds to disperse protesters the previous day. With the Monsoon Session under way, security arrangements cover several zones around Parliament. No protest has been called in the area today, but arrangements remain to manage any gathering. A separate protest continues at Jantar Mantar, according to the transcript.
