Monsoon Session: Opposition Corners Govt Over Ram Temple Donation Scam, Demands Independent Probe

Ahead of the upcoming monsoon session, the opposition has targeted the government over an alleged donation scam at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. In a joint letter to the Prime Minister, Congress leaders have demanded an independent, high-level investigation into the alleged embezzlement of temple donations. They questioned the Prime Minister's silence and highlighted that the temple trust members were appointed solely by the government. Meanwhile, the special investigation team probing the case is expected to submit an interim report to the Supreme Court. During questioning, the key accused admitted to stealing donations and misusing identification to issue passes. The temple trust will hold a meeting to review the probe report and appoint a full-time chief executive officer.
