The Department of Space has tightened rules governing voluntary retirement and resignation for Group A Scientific and Technical personnel at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) amid a reported rise in resignations.

According to an Office Memorandum dated July 14, authorities observed an increase in requests for voluntary retirement and resignations, including from scientists associated with India's flagship Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission. Officials said the trend has affected the implementation of projects considered to be of national importance.
