Russia’s Federal Security Service said it thwarted a major planned FPV drone strike targeting a strategic defence industry facility in the Moscow region, preventing what it described as a coordinated cross-border operation involving 35 drones resistant to electronic warfare systems. According to the FSB, the drones were configured in Kyiv, equipped with foreign explosives and Canadian-made control systems, and smuggled into Russia via a route passing through Slovakia, Poland and Belarus. Authorities said a Russian national recruited for the operation has been detained and is cooperating, while another suspect was neutralised during arrest. The agency also indicated that a Ukrainian individual based in Europe is being examined for alleged involvement. Investigations are ongoing under terrorism-related charges.
