- POLAND TO HOST MULTINATIONAL MILITARY DRILLS THIS AUTUMN
Autumn 2026 will bring European troops to Poland as Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the country will host joint European military exercises as part of an endeavor to boost regional security. While in Paris on Monday, the head of the Polish government highlighted the importance of these efforts in response to Russia’s ongoing attacks on Ukraine, and continuous threats to the Poland and the Baltic states.
- VON DER LEYEN HEADS TO KYIV
Ukraine and the EU are set to sign a new defense partnership as Ursula von der Leyen travels to Kyiv to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday. The 2-billion-euro deal, shown exclusively to TVP World, focuses on joint weapons production and deeper integration into the EU’s defense industry, as Europe scrambles to close gaps in Kyiv’s air defense.
- UKRAINE ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EU?
The European Union has agreed to open a second cluster of accession negotiations with Ukraine on Tuesday which focuses on foreign and security policy. Although Kyiv had hoped to launch proceedings across all six clusters in July, EU member states have only agreed to open the sixth cluster this week, which covers foreign and defense policy.
