Boyd Built the Only Thing FROM Cannot Control | FROM Theory

MGM+ recently reached back to Season 1, Episode 8 and shared Boyd’s diner conversation specifically to help fans with their theory crafting.
The obvious question is why.

In that scene, Abby asks who built the town. Boyd responds by explaining how frightened strangers become a functioning community: gather the resources, create a system, protect everybody, and teach people to look after one another.
This theory argues that Boyd unknowingly built the moral opposite of the community that created FROM’s monsters.

The original townspeople sacrificed their children so the adults could live forever. Boyd’s town is built around the reverse promise: the strong accept responsibility so nobody vulnerable is abandoned. And the Season 4 finale may have shown the Man in Yellow recreating the original bargain at the very same diner table.
