We Had to Be Reminded... || October Beans & The Taste of Summer || July 2026
Some days on the farm go exactly as planned... and some days remind us why we do things the way we do.
Today we're moving cows to fresh pasture, picking a mess of October beans, digging potatoes from the house garden, and canning another taste of summer for the pantry. Along the way we're reminded why we stopped planting potatoes in this spot years ago.
For lunch, Meagan shares one of her favorite summertime meals, a simple tomato sandwich that's hard to beat.
Thank you for spending part of your day with our family. We hope these ordinary moments encourage you to slow down, enjoy the season you're in, and appreciate the simple blessings God provides.
If you enjoy traditional Appalachian living, gardening, canning, livestock, and preserving old-fashioned ways of life, we'd love to have you join us.
