CHINA WARNS PUTIN? Zelensky Claims Beijing Delivered an Ultimatum to Moscow Over Nuclear Weapons

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said China has, for the first time, delivered a strong warning to Russia against any consideration of using nuclear weapons in the war in Ukraine. Speaking after the NATO summit in Ankara, Zelensky said European leaders briefed him on contacts with Chinese officials who reportedly reacted harshly to Russian nuclear rhetoric. The Ukrainian leader said China’s role in the conflict was also discussed during his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. The remarks come days after Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated that Russia remains prepared to use nuclear weapons under certain circumstances. NATO leaders meanwhile pledged €70 billion in military aid to Ukraine for 2026 and another €70 billion for 2027.
