Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) corporator Ramesh Mhatre has been arrested in connection with the alleged assault on doctors and other medical staff at a Dombivli hospital, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place on the evening of July 6 at Shastri Nagar Hospital, a Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC)-run facility in Dombivli. Police registered a case against Mhatre and five others on Tuesday night, before taking the Shiv Sena corporator into custody from his residence on Wednesday.
