Watch: Indore Ghost Hospital Exposes Civic Apathy With 87 Staff Assigned To Non Existent Building

Approved in 2020, a 100-bed civil hospital in Indore remains a ghost facility with no land or building, yet 87 medical posts were sanctioned. Doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff have been officially transferred to this non-existent hospital for six years, only to be deployed to other government hospitals and Sanjeevani clinics. The situation was exposed in June 2026 when a transferred technician arrived to join work and found no facility. The absence of the hospital affects nearly three lakh residents in densely populated areas like Khajrana and Bicholi. Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Rajendra Shukla stated the delay is due to the unavailability of government land in the densely populated urban zone. Authorities claim the hospital project remains active on paper and temporary staff deployments will continue until land is acquired and construction begins.
