The Maharashtra State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) on Monday issued an advisory urging private offices in the metropolis to allow employees to work from home and announced a half-day for non-essential and semi-government offices as heavy downpour continues to batter the city.
The Mumbai-Pune Expressway as well as old highway have been closed to traffic travelling from Pune to Mumbai after a major landslide and non-stop rainfall.

The Mumbai-to-Pune route remains open. Heavy rain has also reduced visibility inside the tunnel, as efforts continue to reopen the route.
