Amelia Island RV camping, Fort Clinch State Park, Fernandina Beach, and Florida beach adventures in our new RV’s first real trip after six months of waiting.

After buying our new RV back in December, we finally take it on its first real adventure across Florida to one of the state’s most underrated coastal destinations: Amelia Island.

We camp at Fort Clinch State Park, explore a Civil War-era fort, walk through historic Fernandina Beach, learn about the island’s eight flags, eat fresh seafood with a view, drive onto the beach, hike through subtropical Florida trails, and discover a surreal driftwood beach that completely surprised us.

This was supposed to be a relaxing shakedown trip with the Pelicamper… but Amelia Island gave us much more than we expected.
