Horror escape: 20-year-old loses limbs after fallen power line electrocutes him— Balandra horror
•What began as a terrifying wake-up call in the darkness of early morning has turned into a family's worst nightmare.
•Twenty-year-old Jesus Maharaj remains in critical condition and is fighting for his life after suffering devastating injuries when he came into contact with a fallen high-tension power line outside his family's home in Rampanalgas Village, Balandra.
•The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, when a loud explosion shattered the quiet of the rural community.
•Residents of the home were jolted awake by what sounded like a blast, followed by bright flashes of light and sparks outside the property.
•Believing their home was on fire, family members scrambled to escape.
Venezuelan woman hunted down and stabbed to death on way to work
•A 28-year-old Venezuelan woman was brutally stabbed to death in Chaguanas on Saturday morning after an attacker allegedly ambushed her while she was walking to work.
•Dead is Mariannys Jiménez, also known as "Sophia", of Kelly Village, Caroni.
•According to reports, Jiménez had spent the previous night with a close friend and co-worker before the two set out for work shortly after 9 a.m.
•As they walked along Montrose Main Road towards their workplace, a man dressed in dark clothing and wearing a cap reportedly approached the women and launched a vicious attack on Jiménez.
•The suspect allegedly stabbed the woman multiple times in broad daylight, sending terrified onlookers scrambling for safety.
•Police were told that the victim's friend ran into a nearby business
"Ling" slain in Diego Martin— riddled with bullets at home
•A 32-year-old Diego Martin man was brutally gunned down at his home in the early hours of Saturday after heavily armed attackers stormed the area and unleashed a barrage of gunfire.
•Dead is Nigel Ferguson, also known as "Ling", of Rathole, Upper Quarry Street, Diego Martin.
•According to reports, residents were jolted awake shortly after 1:30 a.m. by a series of loud explosions coming from Ferguson's residence.
•Moments later, two men dressed in dark clothing were seen fleeing the property on foot. Witnesses reported seeing the suspects run down a staircase leading to the roadway before disappearing into the darkness.
•Concerned residents went to investigate and made a grim discovery. Ferguson was found lying motionless in the doorway of his home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
