Fluance has been a leader in the world of high-value Hi-Fi, but their brand-new Fluance RT87 turntable ($799 USD / $979 CAD) is a bit of a departure from what they’ve done before. Boasting a dual-plinth design, adjustable VTA, a hanging-weight anti-skate system, and 78 RPM capability, this semi-manual belt-drive deck is swinging for the fences.
I’ve been testing an early review unit under embargo for the past week ahead of its official June 15 release, and while it has a couple of minor quirks, I'd say Fluance knocked it out of the park again.
BUT BEWARE: I made a stupid (embarrassing) mistake during setup that almost made me think this turntable was a total dud. ARGH! Let me know what you think.
