Iran war ending? Trump claims peace deal could be signed Sunday | FOX 10 Phoenix

Momentum is building toward a historic peace deal to end the war between the United States and Iran, with President Trump announcing that a formal signing could take place as early as Sunday, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is open to all." 

While mediator Pakistan confirms both sides have agreed on a framework and are expected to electronically sign the memorandum of understanding on June 14, Iranian officials are urging caution regarding the exact timeline.

Iran has publicly pushed back against the immediate Sunday schedule, stating that an agreement might still be days away. Negotiations will proceed in two distinct stages, starting with a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Iran and the United States before moving into the second phase of talks. Despite the conflicting timelines, Iranian representatives admit that the possibility of a signing taking place in the coming days cannot be ruled out.

Under the proposed framework, the critical Strait of Hormuz would reopen immediately. Complex negotiations surrounding Iran's nuclear program will be intentionally delayed and pushed to the second stage for a final agreement. 

Iranian state media also reported that the postponed funeral services for the slain Ayatollah Ali Khamenei are now planned for this July.
