Fishing maniac and presenter Ali Hamidi, is joined by angling buddy Roo Abbott and diver Luc Boerrigter, and the lads all head to a quintessential, intimate venue in Devon, England, called 'Millhayes Lakes'.
The team's mission is to catch a UK 30lb carp, with the bite filmed on an underwater camera. However, small lakes in springtime can be notoriously tricky, so with the addition of a diver and underwater cameras, this will be no easy task. After catching some smaller specimens, they crack the tactics and bait code, but will they bank that illusive 30 pounder before the end of the trip?
Watch as Ali and the team scrutinise and react to their different carp rigs and baits by viewing incredible footage as it plays out live from the mission control tent on the “live-cam” screens - think “Gogglebox for Fishing”.
In their armoury, the team also have “spy-cams”, which are cableless mobile underwater cameras that are placed. and then retrieved after the event, so in effect “Carp VAR”. Virtually no areas of a lake are off limits for underwater camera coverage, if clarity allows.
As the spellbinding footage unfolds, you’ll get to see underwater fishing myths and truths exposed, find out which baits carp love most, experience carp fishing tackle and technology in different scenarios, see how different weather conditions influence the carps’ behaviour and witness the fine lines between success and failure.
